Clean Up Australia Day

Feb 22, 2019

Let’s all help keep North Lakes and the Moreton Bay Region beautiful by taking part in this year’s Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday, 3 March.

Locally, more than 11,000 volunteers are expected to turn out to combat litter and illegal dumping in local parks, beaches, waterways, roads and footpaths.

Want to get involved? Head to the Clean Up Australia website and sign up as an individual, group, school or business.

Register your event

There’s still time left to register your event – but get in quick, as a Clean Up Kit will be distributed prior to the day.

You can get involved with Clean Up Australia as a member of the community, including individuals, friends, faith-based groups, local community groups and more.

If you’re a business, registering is a fantastic team building exercise, and a great way to be seen making a difference in your community. Businesses are also invited to come on board as a Business Supporter, where funds will help Clean Up Australia to continue its work. There are also advocacy and branding partner opportunities available.

Youth groups and schools are also invited to join in. There are plenty of great educational resources available through the Clean Up Australia organisation, and it’s a great way to teach kids about caring for the environment and how everyone can make a difference!

About Clean Up Australia

Clean Up Australia inspires communities to clean up, fix up and conserve the environment. Clean up Australia works nationally to empower communities, businesses, schools and youth groups to remove rubbish from the environment – including waterways, beaches, and bushland. They work to educate and motivate individuals and groups to take action for the environment.

REMEMBER: As well as participating in the flagship Clean Up Australia Day event held on the first Sunday in March, communities, schools, youth groups, and businesses are encouraged to help clean up Australia every day! And, be mindful of your waste and recycling options, both in the home and at your workplace.
