Local shoppers will start to see new labels pop up on food products from July, following an agreement on Country of Origin food labelling reforms.
Federal Member for Petrie, Luke Howarth MP, said the Commonwealth Government’s agreement with the states and territories has come after decades of frustration. “For years, consumers have had to put up with misleading and confusing food labels.
“This new system will provide the clarity shoppers deserve, importantly without imposing an excessive burden on businesses.”
