Earlier in the month we posted a question on our facebook page asking the community to share any houses with awesome looking Christmas Lights.

We have collated these together into a nice little list for you and have found some others surrounding North Lakes too.

The addresses have been listed in such a way that if you follow it from top to bottom it will send you on your own Christmas Lights trail. It begins at the back of North Lakes, taking you to the front of North Lakes and finishing in breezy Redcliffe if you feel adventurous.

Work Begins on Multi-Million Dollar Retail Complex

Construction has begun on an exciting new multi-million dollar large format retail complex at Stockland’s thriving North Lakes Town Centre with the first sod officially turned yesterday. (Monday, December 15).

Leading national property investor Primewest is developing the $75 million complex on three adjoining sites at North Lakes Drive.

Primewest paid $19.5 million for the almost 65,000 square metre ‘super site’ located on the retail ‘high street’ of the town centre adjacent to Westfield North Lakes and Masters Home Improvement.

The acquisition is the largest single commercial land sale at North Lakes.

Moreton Bay Rail December 2014 Update

The Moreton Bay Rail project is on track to be completed mid-2016. Since the start of construction in January this year, the project has:

- Completed Dohles Rocks and Brays Road Bridges.

- Started work all 20 bridge structures across the site.

- Started work on the upgrade of local roads.

- Relocated more than 110 animals, including squirrels and sugar gliders, frilled neck lizards, several snake species, native mice (Melomys), bats and birds.

- Tagged and monitored 476 koalas, with no injuries to koalas from the construction activities.

New Fields for Team Play at North Lakes

It’s another win for community sport and recreation in the Moreton Bay Region with the Queensland Government’s Get Playing Plus Program investing $723,000 in new playing fields at North Lakes.

Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Division Four councillor Julie Greer said the State Government’s contribution to Moreton Bay Regional Council’s $1.73 million upgrade of Kinsellas Playing Fields would mean construction would get under way in 2015 once North Lakes developer Stockland had completed earthworks.

New Bridge Connects North Lakes to Dakabin

An important new multi-million dollar bridge that provides a direct link between Stockland’s award-winning masterplanned North Lakes’ community and Dakabin has opened to traffic.

The $13 million bridge has been built by Stockland and connects Kerr Road at North Lakes to the Moreton Bay Regional Council’s new $14.1 million Plantation Road on the western side of the Bruce Highway.

The 95 metre Plantation Road Bridge was initiated by Moreton Bay Regional Council to improve travelling times and accessibility for drivers travelling between North Lakes and suburbs on the western side of the highway.

Noise Walls - Jasper Place to Kinsellas Rd, Mango Hill

As part of the Moreton Bay Rail project, a noise assessment has been undertaken along the rail corridor between Lawnton and Kippa-Ring stations. In addition, where the project is upgrading existing roads or building new roads, such as the station access roads, noise assessments have been undertaken.

At locations along the road corridor where predicted noise from the rail line or associated roads will exceed the State Government’s rail and / or road noise guidelines, noise walls have been considered.

Coles Mango Hill Opens it's Doors Today

There was buzzing excitement at the new Mango Hill Markets Village today when Coles opened it's doors.  With underground parking it will be a sure way to entice customers knowing they can park out of the heat or be sheltered from the storms for that matter.

As well as offering customers a slice of their opening celebration cake they have lots of opening deals in store such as 3 large mango's for $5, half price Helga's Bread and half price Kettle Potato Chips.

Anzac Ave Southbound On-Ramp Closure

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) would like to inform you that nightworks will be undertaken on the Anzac Avenue southbound on-ramp to the Bruce Highway from 7pm to 4am on Wednesday 10 December 2014, weather permitting.

These works are in preparation for a temporary closure of the on-ramp on Thursday 11
December 2014 from 9pm to 4am and on Friday 12 December, Monday 15 December
and Tuesday 16 December 2014 from 7pm to 4am, weather permitting.

Some additional electrical works will also be undertaken in the work zone on Wednesday 17 December 2014 from 7pm to 4am.
