Hi,

We are a family of four looking at moving to North Lakes from country NSW in Feb/March next year. Can anyone please tell me if there are any storage facilites close by to store furniture and items while waiting to move into a home?

Also, if anyone is commuting to Brisbane city for work, how long does it take by car? I will be working in Milton starting at approx 8.00 a.m. till 5.30 p.m. Is public transport the best option?

Hi John,

Thanks for the post. There is a storage facility on Morris Rd, Rothwell (only 5 - 10mins from North Lakes). I drive to the city everyday. I have a carpark provided which makes things easier. I also start early and finish early to avoid some of the traffic. It takes approx 35 - 40mins each way.

There are some people I know who drive to Chermside Westfield and then get a bus - you can also drive to Aspley Hypermarket. It avoids having to change from train to bus etc. We were supposed to get a train line up here but it has never happened.

If you didn't want the hassle of traffic problems, which do exist up here, the train would be your best bet to get to Milton.  It is a lot quicker than the bus system and to get to Milton you can catch a train straight through from Petrie station.  It only takes @ 12 mins to drive to the station from NL.  Depending where you will be working in Milton, it should only be a short walk from the station.  Most major things there are close to the station.
