We are finally in our new home and now begin the ardous task of landscaping. It would be great if anyone can recommend a supplier of topsoil and/or turf. Resonably priced is a big factor

Hi we have just finshed our landscaping and have some recommendations for you.We got our top soil for $330 for 10 cubic square metres from a ad from the local paper under landscaping not sure of his number cause i dont have the paper with me.We used Dig that mini diggers to spread the soil(Trust me its worth every cent to get someone to spread it out and can be done in 2 hours)0433835646.We used Hancys turf there turf starts at $3.50 a sqm and we havnt had a problem at all with it.We got all our plants form the cabolture markets.hope this helps.

Thank you so much, i didn't tick the box to get an email if we got a reply so I only just got your message :-) we used City Soils in the end $ 30 a cubic metre and hope to turf this weekend so I will give Hancys a call-we hired a dingo and you are right it was the best money ever spent especially as we had it from fri pm to mon pm for $240!!!

Thanks for your recommendation for City Soils, after seeing that we ordered our topsoil from them as well!!! What sort of grass did you put down (that's our next step... maybe, perhaps this weekend!!)

We used Hancys turf as recommended by Katie84, and chose Grand Royale which is a wide leaf buffolo grass speically grown for S.E Qld climate-it looks amazing we are in Lanagan check out the Green grass!!!!!!!

hapee1 - I went for a drive yesterday and think found your place - I could see 3 houses on Lanagan which had new grass, but only one stood out (and it was a buffalo grass)... so am assuming it was yours!! Looks good, and its pretty much what I want - thanks for the tipoff

We have built twice now in North Lakes and both times we used a company called "Awesome Organics" for our soil. $29 per m2, no middle man and includes delivery. Minimum 10m2 order. I believe it comes from out west somewhere where they mix animal carcus from an abattoir with soil and put it through a sift. I have used it for garden beds and lawn prep. 3 weeks in and the plants are growing like crazy and the veggies love it.

If your looking for grass, we used Arcadia turf in Morayfield/Caboolture.
Was confused with what type of grass to get and he provided good advice. We ended up getting "Sapphire". Its a buffalo similar to Sir Walter and Palmetto but doesn't tend to go yellow during winter months or when it gets no water. Keeps deep green colour through winter, low water tollerance. Finer leaf so softer to walk on. There is a good website with info - www.sapphireturf.com.au

Plants - definately Caboolture Markets. Get there early though (6am) for best variety.
Got massive Cycads approx 1m high and 1m wide for $80.00 each.. Bargain. Much cheaper than nurseries or Bunnings
