I understand someone in North Lakes is trying to gauge interest in starting a scout group. Does anybody know who to contact to register afore mentioned interest. Many Thanks

A Scout Troop has been established - my daughter is a Scout. What you could do is go to the Woodside Community Centre (Corner Discovery Drive and Gardenia Parade, NL) where they meet on a Tuesday at 6:30 (till 8:00). There you can pick up the forms, etc.

BTW How old are your prospective Scouts?

G'day WillerbyMangoHill, as Kirk says, we have established the North Lakes Scout Group and will gladly welcome all newcomers. The North Lakes Scout Group now has some 30 youth members, and is conducting weekly meetings for boys and girls aged between 6 years and 14years old at the Woodside Community Centre, each Tuesday night. Joey Scouts - 6-8yrs are at 5.30pm to 6.30pm; Cub Scouts, Scouts and Venturers from 7yrs up, at 6.30-8.00pm.

Hi all, thanks for the replies. My son is just 11 and has been in Cubs back in the UK until we emigrated. He is a bit shy at the moment and is a little reluctant to join in with anything, but he does need to do something with his time. He is not sporty so Scouts would be good for him. We will work on him to try and overcome his shyness.
