Hi, does anyone have any info on the health services that are available in North Lakes? My little girl will be due for her 4 month needles soon after we move to North Lakes and I would like to now if there is a local family health centre that takes care of immunisations and developmental assessments. Also is there a good local medical practice? Thanks in advance |

I use Murrumba Downs Medical Centre for my kids. They are open until 10pm every day of the week and there is no need to make an appointment. It's only a short drive from North Lakes. Their number is 3049 9000. There is also a Child Health Clinic every Monday at the Family Wellness Chiropractic Centre. Their number is 3491 6533. |

We have taken our bub to the HealthFirst Medical Centre on North Lakes Drive. My wife's seen Dr Hooten there and seems to be pretty happy with him. So, what's happened to all the socialising (or is it organised outside the realms of this thread now ) Isn't it wonderful when the internet can have such a good effect on people's lives (except Jacky's contant off-topic interuptions ) Only joking Jacky, one thing you should know before moving to this country is that: you know if people like you if they make fun of you. It's the Aussie way. Or so I learning when I moved here 13 years ago. Now I'm just one of the locals ! |

Good idea 'loopy'- loving the name by the way! There are a few new posts on here of other mums keen to meet up. Obviously I am a little preoccupied this week (this baby is certainly taking its time to appear) so its a little hard for me to plan anything in advance. But hopefully by next week I will be able to meet up and i'm sure be desperate for some distraction from feeding and changing nappies! Welcome to do something at mine- weather permitting we have a big back yard that the kids can run free round! |

Hello Everyone Jenna here, Due to some silly circumstances I've just moved back to North Lakes, and back in with mum lol you may have seen her around she drives the White CRV with Metro Mutts and Moggies written on it, Ive also got my two little men with me, Chase who's just turned 2 and Bailey who is 4 Months today We are definately interested in catching up with some people that live locally and maybe if anyone is interested in doing some kind of exercise group thingy (I need to get rid of my baby weight and then some :blush like for instance at the moment I like walking down to the shopping centre from the night owl centre its not as hard as it sounds, we could all go for a coffee or a hot chocolate when we get there as a reward! Any Takers? I need some company (apart from the boys) to motivate me, im so lazy so yeah either meet up is fine with me as long as i can walk there as im too chicken to get my licence (I'm 24 lol) Love Jen |

You might rethink this and rename yourself as Drives-In-Car and be scared of running with scissors. Driving is pretty easy in Brisbane (compared to the rest of the world). |

Hi Kirk and Chanelle, Yes Kirk my name doesnt make much sence, I originally saw it in an online game that I play, World Of Warcraft it was someones guild name, my partner and i thought it was different and i guess it stuck with me, funny thing is I dislike running as almost as much I dislike the thought of driving .... but i do plan to take lessons soon, once i am driving im sure ill be singing its praises, till then it just makes me nervous Chanelle once the weather clears up we'll have to go for a walk anyway both the boys are in bed and they'll be up early so I should head there too. |

Hi everyone, I'm back online after ages...my house is all spotless now so I have the time for another meet-up. Was thinking either Friday or early next week maybe? (if my baby doesn't arrive before that!) Talking about baby arrivals - just realised I haven't heard from Sophie today yet - need to check on her...so I was thinking the shopping mall food court for a change this time? Let me know who is up for it and when - hopefully the weather will improve soon. Dee and Jenna - would you like to join us? Miriam |

Hi girls. I hope you're all great! Sorry I've been offline for the past couple of weeks...I'm so bogged down with assignments and exams at the moment....they've pretty much taken over my life! I'd love to join you guys early next week to get the boys out of the house for a bit, if that's alright. Poor things have got pretty bad cabin-fever from being kept at home like hermits for a couple of weeks. I'm liking Miriam's idea of meeting at the Westfield foodcourt playground or maybe one of the local parks so I can relax a little better not having to worry about my boys running amok through someone's house. Miriam - I can't believe you're due already! Oh my goodness it's come along very quickly (I'm sure you're not feeling the same way). How exciting! Not long now until you have your beautiful bub in your arms...I'm so excited for you! Has anyone heard whether Sophie's had her bub yet? Surely it should have arrived by now...I hope everything went smoothly, and mum and bub are doing really well! Anyways, I've prattled on enough. Please keep me posted on the details....any day earlier in the week is good with me and anytime between 10am and 2pm works in well with school runs. Take care and chat soon |

Hello, Tuesday is fine with me, assuming Chase is up to it, last night he had a temperature and we called the After Hours Dr. out but he couldnt find anything else wrong and he didnt have a temperature by the time he got there. He was a little bit sluggish this morning and he didnt eat his breakfast so I kept him home from daycare.... But im sure if he has a quiet weekend he'll be fine next week, so I'll be there with my double limo pram (it stands out in a crowd) how will we know eachother? If the weathers fine ill walk down, if not i'll catch a lift in the Metro Mobile Luv Jenna Chase and Bailey |

Hello from across the highway in Kallangur.... Just reading through this post and also keen to meet some other mums with young ones in the area. I already go to a nice Kallangur playgroup on Tuesdays but would also like to meet some families in North Lakes. Still working on getting a 2nd car so it's a bit hard to get around during the day as my husband uses it to get to work, but should have one soon! Meanwhile nice to chat to others on here, I am an Australian but lived in Europe for 7 years and just back 18 months ago...I left as a single backpacker and came back with a husband and daughter! I was in the UK for 2 years and The Netherlands for 5. We have two daughters born almost exactly 2 years apart, one is now just over 2 and our youngest was 6 weeks old yesterday! Renee |
