Hello everyone

My name is Anna. I have a 5 year old son who goes to the Bounty Boulevard SS in his prep. I am finding it difficult to gain information to where I can catch the bus service that will take me to bounty boulevard drive via endeavour blvd or via discovery drive.

We live in a rented house near southereden drive (freshwater village they call it I think) and I am just wondering if anyone can help how I can drop my son to his school without taking the hassle of catching bus 682 or 681 from discovery drive to the end of discovery drive up to the entry of the bounty boulevard drive.

I will be waiting for any comments.... and much appreciated to whoever replies to this.

Hi Anna. Welcome to North Lakes.

I can certainly sympathise with you, as I too would like a bus to travel along Bounty Boulevard although in my case it would be to get away from here rather than to get here. I currently drive to Petrie train station but that is leaving my wife with no way of leaving our house. A bus that stopped on Bounty Boulevard would mean that I could take the bus to Petrie (instead of walking all the way down to Discovery Drive to catch the bus - I live near the school).
Now, at this point in time, there is no bus going around Endeavour/Bounty Boulevards. But, and it's a rather iffy but (that is to say that it's not very certain), I am under the impression that they could be redrawing the route 682 to do a loop around NL going up Endeavour, across Bounty and then down Discovery (and vice versa in the other direction, of course).
So... in order to clarify things I am going to make some calls tomorrow. One to Hornibrook Bus Lines and one to TransLink to see what I can find out. I will report back this time tomorrow.
However, if anyone else knows anything about this, please tell...
Until tomorrow...

Hi Kirk,

Thank you for your kindest reply. So far, translink can only direct me to catch the 682 bus from discovery drive and get off at the very last stop (after the roundabout). At the moment, I have been taking my son to school by a cab and walk back home either from Bounty Boulevard drive all the way to discovery drive or vice versa. Its a nice long walk but tiring in the end.

Let me know any news you come across.

HI Anna

Not sure if its of any help to you or not but as i was leaving Possum Parade this morning I noticed a School run bus heading up Bounty Boulevard towards BBSS. It was around 8.15am. I think they just pick up the schoolies heading to NLSC, but it may be worth while finding out from the bus company if you can ride with them to BBSS. Or maybe see if the school can ask if any other parents are also having similar issues, if they had enough parents / students interested in utilising a bus service might be easier to get one up and running.

Good luck

thanks Helen for the information. I was wondering if you saw the bus name like Thompsons Strathpine or Hornibrook or was it like a van or a private NLSC bus service? I will try and ring NLSC and find out if they can provide service for non-NLSC students to travel to BBSS. So far, most of students in my son's class are being picked up by their mums and some from the after hours school child care.

Thank you for the note.
Anna
