I am looking for childcare for a 2 1/2 year old boy. I have managed to find space at one of the daycare centres in North Lakes for our 4yr old however no space anywhere for our 2 1/2 yr old. This is proving difficult for me to go back to work. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Hi, my daughter attends one of the ABC centres in North Lakes and is also 2 1/2 and I know that they are full. There is a new centre that has opened up across the road in Halpine Lake called Capers ChildCare. they are only new so they may have some positions available. It looks like a nice centre (I live in Halpine and drive past everyday). You could possibly give them a ring. I think they are an independent centre as well. Hope this helps.

It is really hard to get spaces in North Lakes.

What days do you need? Would you be interested in sharing a nanny, I am also desperate trying to a place for both my 3yo and 10mo baby.

In 2010 one of the Kids Capers are building in North Lakes and I am hoping to get both my children in there. So I really only need to find something to get me through the rest of this year.

Hi!

Have you been able to find somewhere for your little boy? I have just moved over this side of Brisbane and have an almost 2 year old little boy. If you are stuck I may be able to help out with some daytime babysitting?

I have a blue card, 1st Aid and lots of experience. I am not working over here yet, so if you need some help please let me know.

Hi. My name's Haeleigh. I'll be 18 in November.
Im currently studying Education (Early Childhood & Primary) at the Australian Catholic University so its hard to find a stable job that caters for uni students with their timetables.

I have been babysitting since i was about 14 years old, so i'd be more than happy to help out if needed. Im newish to the area and live in Griffin. This would also help me to gain experience for my degree working with children.

Call me on 0404 031 482 if you'd like my services.
Haeleigh.

Hi,
Sorry, forgot to mention.
I have a current blue card and police check.

The following times are my uni timetable times, so if you can give me an hour before and after for travel that would be great.
eg. Monday i have uni from 8am-9am so i could start at 10am, Tuesday i have uni from 12pm-2pm so i could work up until 11am or start at 3pm etc.

Monday - 8am-9am
Tuesday - 12pm-2pm
Wednesday - 8am-3pm
Thursday - 10am-7pm
Friday- No Uni.
Saturday - No Uni.
Sunday - No Uni.

Hi there,
my 2 boys are at sesame lane, there 2 3/4 & 9mths, i no there are no nursery spots, as i have friends on the waiting list and will be at least 6mths. But i beleive they may have spots 4 older 1's, worth a try, there wonderful, they do food and everything!!

They are also building a new 120 space centre near the new school, no sure when that is happening.
I had to put my lil 1 in Rothwell centre till could get him at nth lakes at start of year. Worth a try tho.

Otherwise have you looked into family daycare? i know there are a couple in nth lakes that have advertised as having spaces?
good luck tho!!
cheers Katryna

I know there is a family day carer in North Lakes who has positions available for under school aged children, if you need care let me know and I can pass on your details or give you her number. I am a day carer myself but only have positions left for school aged children.

Hi Janet
My daughter is in Master L's class - (Miss E)

An idea... put up a notice in your boys' classroom windows, or in the school newsletter... perhaps one of the mums from school could help you out for a while?

Don't worry... BE HAPPY :)

Hi, I am moving to North Lakes in a couple of months and would like some feedback on the ABC and sesame Lane childcare centre's. My son will be 2 by the time we move and I will be looking at putting him into care for the first time, for 1 day a week as I have a 1 month old little girl too.
Also can anyone tell me if the library at North Lakes runs any nursery rhyme time sessions for little ones and any other info about activities or groups that are on around North Lakes for Toddlers and mums would be appreciated.
I would also be interested in participating in pram walks or group excercise sessions for mums with bubs if there are any of these groups around.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Hi Cindy. I cannot rave enough about ABC North Lakes South. Absolutely fantastic and the kids even moan if I pick them up too early. I have a 2yr old and 4 yr old there. Took a while to get the 2yr old in but now hes fulltime. We are moving out of the area in about 5-6 weeks so will be moving to a diff ABC (creating a space). I would give them a call and get your name down asap ph: 3886 2533 or email: not@childcare.com.au . Hope that helps. By the way when I started looking in April the other ABC and Seaseme Lane had a 6-8month waiting list. Thanks Paulla

Hi Cindy, there are a couple of play groups in North lakes- if you go onto Playgroups Queensland, you can get all the telephone numbers, there is also a kiddy gym class at the gym 'Physi Fun' on a Tuesday- I think there is a website or you can pop into the gym and get a leaflet.
The library runs a free rhyme time at 9.30 am on a Tuesday. I have not been in the area all that long (2 months) but slowly finding more on more groups to go to. A few of the mums on here are also going to meet up for a coffee, so feel free to contact us once you have moved. I am expecting on 2nd July, and have a three year old boy.
Thanks for the info about ABC Millar- I too need to start my son at a nursery just a couple of days a week, and I haven't heard brilliant comments about Sesame Lane!

Hi Cindy. I'm moving to North Lakes next week (13/6) and have 3 boys aged 8.5, 2.5 & 15 months. We're moving into a house at Woodside and I'm planning on walking our eldest son to and from school at Bounty Blvd SS every morning and afternoon if you're interested in joining me. I'm also looking at organising to meet sistersoph, so maybe you could join us for the occasional coffee, trip to a park etc.

There is also a story time at the library on a Thursday morning at 0930 - they also do a bedtime story session at 630pm on Thursdays as well...

There is a playgroup at the Woodside sports rooms on Wednesdays at 0930 - last time I went it was $3 per child. I haven't been in ages though...

Cheandjo - have you walked to school yet?? I cycle with my children to BBSS everyday

Don't worry... BE HAPPY :)

Hi Ms.Jo
I walked up to BBSS yesterday to hand in our enrollment forms and to see how long it takes (not as long as expected...about 23 minutes, which is great ) Our eldest is staying at the Sunshine Coast with his grandparents for the last couple of weeks of school so he can finish out the term, and will start at BBSS at the beginning of next term.
Looking forward to tomorrow.
