I was hoping that someone could recommend a good family Doctor for me and my family.

No disrespect to anyone who goes to the North Lakes medical centre in Westfield but I have two young boys and I took one of them to see the Doctor today and I could not believe how unsympathetic he was to a child that was quite clearly in pain...

I am prepared to travel to Redcliffe or somewhere near by if need be.

I'm hoping a few more residents will make some recommendations aswell, but from my experience 'The Family Practice Medical Centre' in Kallangur on cnr Anzac Avenue and School Rd is a great one.

I have a 3 year old daughter and she has seen several of the doctors and nurses there and they have always been fantastic. The small things like keeping her distracted while getting needles, and giving her a lollipop at the end always make doctors clinic a little more enjoyable for children.

There number is 3204 4222. They are also a bulk billing clinic.

We like a new practice in North Lakes called Lakelands Medical Centre. They used to be based at Kallangur. They are on the cnr of Winn and Gregor St West at North Lakes. Phone number 3204 4766.
There are a number of lovely doctors there.
I would highly recommend them.

I take my children (10 years old and 1 year old) to see either Dr Hooton or Dr Shankar at Health First Medical Centre. their phone number is 3491 6251. They are both great doctors and very caring. the receptionists there are also always fantastic and always try and squeeze you in if you need to see a doctor. They bulk bill for children under 16 so it is good.

I can second that opinion on Health First Medical Centre. My wife was recommended Dr Hooton by someone, and she has been very happy with the centre.

NB I though we would be the only people in NL to have a 10 yo and a baby - but so do you stacey! Is your 10 yo going to the new Bounty Boulevard State School by any chance?

No he attends North Lakes State College - started grade 5 today. I am now however a mother to a 10 year old and a 2 year old as my daughter had her birthday yesterday. They grow up so fast don't they.

We made an appointment for a small baby late last year at the North Lakes medical centre. We called at 1145 and were told there was an appointment at 12. Too easy as we are in the estate and was there in 5 minutes. We were finally seen at 130!!!!!!!! They couldnt explain to me how they ran 1.5 hours behind in the space of 10 minutes. And no disrespect to any person, but the doctors broken english and referal which looked like it had been spell checked by a 2 year old, will see us looking elsewhere for help.

Hi i like Lakelands Medical Centre Cnr Winn & Gregor Sts (07) 3204 4766.They bulk bill for children under 16 and i have never waited anymore than 20 min.I have also rang up and got a appointment within a few hours.After hours care i like a place at kallangur my husband plays sport late on a sunday night and needed stitches it was 10:00pm an they where open and after we left they where making house calls as well.Bulk billed as well.
