Welcome to the North Lakes Weather Station. This station is situated in the Eastridge estate of North Lakes. The station itself is an Oregon Scientific WMR-968, it consists of a anemometer, wind vane, rain gauge and thermo hygro sensor. Some addition items have been added, such as Dallas 1-Wire sensors for solar and lightning detection. A colour camera on the roof has also been added for visual observations, the camera faces NW towards Discovery Drive.
The instruments connect to a computer where the data is obtained by a programme call Weather Display. The software uploads the data to this site every minute to provide "live" weather results.
Whilst all attempts are made to make these instrument as accurate as possible it is not a professional weather station and therefore the results are indicative only, however saying this I have challenged the information from this station on a number of occasions against the Bureau Of Meteorology's Redcliffe, Brisbane and Brisbane Airport observation station and found it to be quite comparable.
